MacDonnell Regional Council Adopts New Organisation Development Plan

30 September 2024

MacDonnell Regional Council (MRC) is proud to announce the adoption of its Organisation Development Plan during the Ordinary Council meeting held on the 6th of September 2024. This strategic plan has been in development for the past ten months and represents a collaborative effort to shape MRC as the employer of choice in the Local Government sector.

The Organisation Development Plan addresses a range of concerns, risks, and opportunities identified through extensive consultation with stakeholders. With a focus on empowering staff and fostering a high-performing workforce, the plan sets out a five-year roadmap for the Council’s future direction.

“This plan is designed to position MacDonnell Regional Council as a leader in Local Government, with a focus on enhancing the work environment, promoting innovation, and attracting and retaining talent,” said Belinda Urquhart, CEO. “We are committed to creating a workplace where people feel valued, and their contributions drive real change in the communities we serve.”

The action plan, detailed in the Organisation Development Plan, highlights the steps to be taken in the short, medium, and long term, ensuring a clear path forward for the Council and its employees. MRC recognises that its people are its most valuable asset, and this plan reflects a commitment to supporting staff while driving operational excellence.
