Councillors attend LGANT Symposium

Newly-elected members of MacDonnell Regional Council attended a Symposium in Darwin.
The newly-elected members of the fourth MacDonnell Regional Council attended an “Elected Member Symposium” presented by LGANT from 5-6 October 2021.
The Symposium was held at the Double Tree by Hilton in Darwin with funding support provided by the NT Government. There was an extensive agenda of topics covered with presenters such as Michael Riches, Commissioner, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Sean Holden, CEO LGANT, Matt Pinnegar, CEO ALGA, the Hon Kon Vatskalis, in his capacity as President LGANT and Executives from the Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet.
MacDonnell Regional Council’s CEO, Jeff MacLeod, was also invited to present topics on Financial Reporting and Local Authority engagement to the Symposium. The highlight of the event was the keynote speech made at the dinner Tuesday evening by Dr Hugh Heggie PSM, Chief Health Officer and Executive Director Health and Clinical Excellence.
